The Firm  

SH Tait & Co was founded in 1924, and has grown and developed with the Mackay Region – we now also service Proserpine and Airlie Beach, with regular visits made to these areas. The growth of our firm is due to the partners values of providing and maintaining unparalleled service, expertise and dedication to our clients through the firms extensive services, whilst maintaining the teams high level of skills but most importantly our integrity.

It is our principal values that have lead us to not only be one of the longest serving and well respected Accounting firms in the Mackay Region, but has also allowed us to establish and develop long-lasting relationships with our clients – now serving many third and fourth generation clients.
Our stability and dedication to clients is a reflection of the firms longevity and the fact there has only been nine partners – four of whom still remain with the firm today. Our specialised and experienced team also contribute to our years of success, due to the excellent relationship between the staff, partners and our clients.

This has allowed us to build and maintain a solid working environment, where our team are motivated to not only achieve the best possible results for our clients, but to be an effective, efficient integral part of the firm. Peter Tait

Peter joined SH Tait & Co as an employee in 1987 after completing his studies at University of Queensland and his Chartered Accountancy Qualifications at a ‘big four’ auditing firm in Brisbane.  Peter became a partner of the firm in 1994.  His experiences include a wide range of taxation and business services clients, working in the mining services area, retailing, construction and primary production.  Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and CPA Australia , and registered company auditor.

 
   
Adam Parrish

Adam graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting.  He started with the firm in 1998 becoming a Partner in 2004.  Adam is a Chartered Accountant advising primarily on Taxation and Business Services.  He has experience in a wide variety of industries but specialises in Primary Production.

  
   
Stephen Amos

Stephen has over 12 years experience in the Business Services area, including provision of taxation, business and accounting advice to a wide range of large and small clients. He was admitted as a partner in 2006. Stephen has a large number of clients in the mining and engineering sectors. He obtained his Bachelor of Business from Central Queensland University and is a member of CPA Australia.

  
   
Monica McKendry

Monica has worked for SH Tait & Co since January 1996 and was admitted as a partner on 1 July 2006.  She obtained her Bachelor of Business with distinction from Central Queensland University and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in February 2000.  Monica specialises in taxation and small business advisory providing a wide range of services to a diverse client base.
